Public Hunting Grounds in Minnesota

One question I am frequently asked is: "Will you publish where to hunt
in the Midwest?" Well in this issue I will show you 150+ public hunting
grounds in Minnesota. In the upcoming issues I will try to cover the rest
of the Upper Midwest. To be on the list I felt the area had to be at least
1000 acres or roughly two square miles, and be public lands open for hunting.
I included the terrain as shown on the maps, it may be a bit wrong at times
but though perhaps wrong, I felt it worth including. You can hunt in three
basic areas: National, State and County Forests, Wildlife Management Areas
(WMA), and selected Scientific and Natural Areas. There is one thing I do
ask, don't just blast anything that moves in the area, check first that
it is legal, I've been wrong before. Good Luck..... I'm sorry if I showed
the world your favorite hunting spot, but hey we own a piece of that land
too....
