Pheasant Hunting

The Division of Wildlife provides put-take pheasant hunting at the Maumee State Forest and the following wildlife areas during pheasant hunting
season: Delaware, Pleasant Valley, Killdeer Plains, Wyandot, Resthaven, Willard, Oxbow Lake, North Turkeyfoot Public Hunting Area, Beach City,
Berlin, Bolivar, Grand River, Hambden, Highlandtown, Shreve, Spencer, Wellington, West Branch, Zeppernick, Dillon, Salt Fork, Fallsville, Indian
Creek, Spring Valley, Rush Run, Caesar Creek, and Darke. The number of pheasants released will depend upon numbers available. Releases are
scheduled during the pheasant season for opening day, the second and third Saturdays, and Thanksgiving Day.

All of Likcing coutny has reopened to pheasant hunting.


ARLY CANADA GOOSE SEASON.
                                          Proposed dates of September 1-15, 1997.
                                          Daily bag limit of four (4) Canada geese
                                          statewide except at Crane Creek/Ottawa,
                                          Killdeer Plains, Mosquito Creek and Mercer
                                          in the Mandatory Reporting Zones where
                                          the daily bag limit will be two (2) Canada
                                          geese daily. Consult Publication 298
                                          (available in August) for more details.
                                          Season open statewide. Persons hunting
                                          private land within the Mandatory
                                          Reporting Zones are required to obtain a
                                          MRZ permit. Special regulations are in
                                          effect at many state parks. Check each park
                                          before hunting.

Ruffed grouse	October 11-  February 28 Bag 3
Ducks, Geese	October 19
Pheasant, chukar November 7 - January 3 Bag 2
Bobwhite quail November 7 - November 29 Bag 4
